"Nickel Slick Nigga" is Kokane's first single from his debut album, Addictive Hip Hop Muzick (1991), which was released on Ruthless/Epic Records under the alias Who Am I?. The entire project was produced by Hutch (Cold 187um) of Above The Law, following Kokane's signing to Eazy-E's label in late 1989. Beyond the album, the song gained further recognition and cult status through its inclusion on the soundtrack for the 1992 crime thriller Deep Cover, starring Laurence Fishburne.
