Jerry B. Long Jr. (Kokane)
Founder & CEO, Bud E Boy Entertainment
Jerry B. Long Jr., globally recognized by his iconic stage name Kokane, is a foundational figure in modern music with over 35 years of industry experience. As the son of Jerry B. Long Sr.—a prolific Motown writer, arranger, and composer—musical excellence is deeply ingrained in his DNA. Throughout his extensive career as Kokane, he has been a highly influential force, collaborating with artists across the globe and playing a pivotal role in shaping the trajectories of major industry talents.
In 2010, leveraging his decades of firsthand experience, Jerry founded Budeboy Recordz, also known as Bud E Boy Entertainment. He envisioned an independent sanctuary where artists could retain full creative control, insulated from the restrictive politics of the traditional music industry. Guided by the inclusive slogan "Music for the World," Bud E Boy Music boasts a remarkably diverse sonic footprint, releasing projects that span hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk, classical, jazz, and global sounds.
At its core, Bud E Boy Entertainment is a family-driven empire. Jerry operates the company as CEO alongside his wife, Vice President Alicia Long, and his son, Digital Executive Anajee Long. A proud father of eight, Jerry's musical legacy continues directly into the next generation, with his daughter, R&B vocalist Aanisah Long, thriving as one of Bud E Boy’s standout recording artists. Together, the Long family continues to build a global platform that prioritizes artistic integrity, independence, and timeless music.
